Here we answer some of the most frequently asked questions about Home Credit.

Are there any extra charges?

We do not charge any missed or late payment fees and will help you work out an individual payment plan if you have difficulty in keeping up with your repayments.

When do I start paying back my loan?

Your first repayment will be due 7 days after you have received your loan. Your repayments will then continue on a weekly basis.

Your agent will update you on the details when they come to finalise your loan, they will also give you a payment book so you can keep track of your repayments.

Try to ensure that your first repayment is on time to avoid going into arrears.

What if I miss a Payment?

You will not be charged but you should contact your agent or telephone the office to discuss so that we can work out a solution.

What it I am struggling to make repayments?

The first thing to do is to talk to your agent or ring the office so we can work out a solution. It may be possible to reduce your weekly repayments to make them more convenient for you.

It is important that you talk to your agent as soon as you can.

Can I pay my loan off early?

If you wish to increase the amount that you pay each week then you will be able to pay your loan off early.

Equally, you can pay in one lump sum if you find yourself able to do so – discuss this with your agent if you feel that this is an option for you.

If you repay your loan early, or if you make overpayments on your loan and make an early partial repayment you may qualify for an early settlement rebate.

Do I need a Bank Account?

No, you do not need a bank account in order to apply, or become a customer, with Regency Express Loans as all loans are delivered to your door in cash.

What information do I need to apply?

When booking your home visit a representative will go through with you, in detail, what documents you will need during the application process. In summary you will need to provide us with:

  • Proof of I.D. (photographic,  i.e. Passport, Driving Licence)
  • Proof of residency (current Utilities Bill, Council Tax Bill etc)
  • 1 month bank statements 
  • Consent so we can complete a credit reference check

When can I apply for a new loan?

We believe in a responsible form of lending and therefore will not issue a new loan until your existing loan has run for a period of 15 weeks or more. 

Can I cancel my agreement?

Yes, you have the right to withdraw from your agreement for up to 14 days after the agreement was signed. You then will have 30 days to return the initial amount borrowed plus a daily rate of interest. To withdraw from your agreement you will need to speak to your agent or contact our office where they will supply you with a right to withdraw letter which will outline how much you owe plus the daily rate of interest for up to 30 days.

How long will it take until I receive my loan?

From when you first apply for a loan with us, to you receiving your loan, it normally takes 1 working day.

What is Home Collected Credit?

Home Collected Credit is a personal and friendly service which can provide you with small, short term loans with affordable repayments. All transactions are completed in the comfort of your own home, and repayments are collected from you on a weekly basis. This will be from one of our local agents who have many years experience of the home collected credit industry, and, as such understand the needs of our customers.

As we at Regency Express Loans are a family run business, we have the capabilities to consider each customer on an individual basis, and because of this we can personalise our service to suit your own needs.

How much can I borrow?

We offer loans from £50 to £500.

What are the criteria for applying?

You can apply for a cash loan as long as you:

  1. Are at least 18 years old.
  2. Live in the United Kingdom.

You do not need to be a homeowner, as our loans are unsecured.

Is it confidential?

We treat all our customers’ information confidentially. Regency Express Loans adhere to the Data Protection Act, so your loan will only ever be discussed with you – not even close family and friends.

You should be aware however that we are obliged to share some information with credit reference agencies.

How do I make repayments on a loan?

One of our local agents will call to you to collect weekly payments or you can easily pop in to local office to make payments.
